The El Boleo Museum, inaugurated in 1996, is a historical museum located in the city of Santa Rosalía, in the municipality of Mulegé. It is housed in the former administrative building of the French mining company Compagnie du Boleo, which exploited important copper deposits from the late 19th century onwards.
The museum shows the history of copper mining and the origins of Santa Rosalía, a city that was born thanks to mining activity. Its rooms display miners' tools, machinery, historical documents, old telephones and typewriters, as well as locomotives and equipment used to transport the ore.
It also explains the life of the workers and the French influence on the city, visible in its architecture and buildings such as the Church of Santa Bárbara.

One of the small German locomotives (made by Orenstein & Koppel) that traveled the miles of tracks laid throughout the town to move copper rests in the outdoor courtyards.
